Wednesday is the BIG day!

After 9 months of growing, becoming uncomfortable, constantly starving toward the end, sweating and no longer loving to sleep - the big day is almost here!
We will be admitted Tuesday night at 5:00 and I will start on cervidil (sp) Apparently my body thinks it is not ready for Barnes to arrive but I say differently! Dr. Lee says my cervix is not ready at all but that if we continue to wait on me then Barnes is going to grow to large and I will have no choice but to have a c-section. However, that could still happen if the cervidil does not do its job. Wednesday morning he will come in and break my water and shabang at some point Barnes will be here on Wednesday.
I am super excited, super stressed, super freaked out and just honestly ready to have him out!! Gran and Gran Guy will be staying in the motor home at the hospital. I honestly don't think I can let my mom leave for too long in the beginning. They will also be taking care of Princess Mia and making sure she says completely happy and comfortable at all times. She will work with Gran Guy one day so she doesn't get to thrown off of her schedule. I know I am crazy! Then she will get to ride home with us from the hospital!! YAY! I miss her already and I am not even leaving her until Tuesday. Ugh!
Well here are the last pictures of Barnes from the last ultra sound . . . . soon we will get to love on this sweet baby boy!!!

36 days and counting!

So up until last Wednesday I have had zero complaints other than the most fabulous cankles which I truly love - ahh! Last Wednesday I jsut started becoming completely uncomfortable. I am hungry but there is little room, I am tired but I HATE bedtime, I want to get up and do a lot but my feet are so swollen and I feel like Barnes may fall out at any minute! (Sorry : ) ) But WOW that is a lot of complaining all at once. I don't like to complian so there it is, I got it all out, no more. The past weekend Lance and I finished gathering all the things that Barnes will need when he arrives, trying to finish washing everything and such. However I did realize besides cotten gowns we have nothing newborn at all. All his smocked, daygowns and such start at 3 months. hmm . . . guess I should hop on down to the Children's Shoppe and pick up a few things. How terrible! : )

The previous weekend I had a shower in Ruston that all my friend threw me. It was great! Food was great and all the sweet gifts were wonderful! I am so thankful that there are so many people that already love Barnes and cannot wait to meet him!

After the shower, Gran Guy, my dad took our photographs with our famiy of 4 for the last time. This was not something I was dying to do but I know Barnes will appreciate it a long time from now. My girls did so good. This first one is my favorite!!!!

If only you could see really close, Mia is smiling so big! I love her under bite!

Big Mama and her belly - ahh!

and one more to complete my fabulous series of preggo pics!

I think Lance looks so cute in these - he is going to be such a great father! Although I know he will spoil Barnes ROTTED! I have seen the signs already!

Have a great week!

Barnes' Room is COMPLETE!

Barnes' room is finally complete! I have been so excited about putting it all together - I could hardly stand it! Mom came over Monday and we went and picked up some finishing touches, went and had lunch and then came home and completed Baby Barnes' room. I am so please with the outcome! Gran and Gran Guy took care of all the bedding for us! What a great gift, and the Mimi and Pops took care of the crib.

Call me Martha - small creation by me and Gran Guy!

Only a small portion of Barnes' wardrobe! I am addicted to baby clothes!

Here is his bassinett! This was once mine ages ago. Now every gran child has used it!

Here is what he will come home from the hospital in - this was what I came home in too!

An overview of the bed.
Most fabulous bedding!

His precious curtain!
We are almost ready for him to come - well the house is - I am not ready for him yet! We had our first shower this past Sunday! It was so much fun - it was a Barnes/Carnahan family shower! I am super excited about my shower this Sunday too! It is so good to get to see everyone all at once!
Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

WOW!

Wow is all I can say! Tonight we will officially put our house on the market! A little scary but I have faith that all will go well. Now keep in mind that I am only 8 weeks until my due date. Yes! That is right. So close. But I truly feel Lance and I are doing the right thing at the right time. As long as there is a roof over Baby Barnes' head for him to come home too then all will be just fine with me.

My fingers are crossed that we can sell and be in a new house before he is born. Wishful thinking, I know but sure would be nice to start out fresh.

It will be hard to say goodbye to my first "big girl" house. The house that Lance and I started our life out in. But comforting to know that we will find the perfect house for our future and for Barnes to grow up in and have lots of great memories in! How exciting!

This past weekend was a blast! Saturday we rode around looking at houses, neighborhoods and such and then had Emily and Jeremy over for dinner! That is always fun! Sunday we had both sets of parents over to see the nursery (not finished) and to have lunch! It is so nice to have our families near!

Well that is it for now - on to the rest of this Monday and then truckin on through the week. Busy and exciting weekend ahead!

Till then!

A little slow -

Better late than never - here is Baby Barnes at almost 29 weeks. I, of course, think he is going to be so freakin cute! But I am sure I have a trusted family and if he is not then maybe they will tell me! haha
I cannot wait to meet him! So far everyone says he looks like someone different so there is no telling who he will actually look like. The middle picture is a Lance pout no doubt!!! But then I have heard he looks like Hilton, maybe the cheeks and hopefully some big 'ole brown eyes! We shall see.
Well, I have really h igh expectations of pretty much completeing the room this weekend, keeping my fingers crossed! I will post when finished!
Until then . . .

Happy Birthday Baby Mia!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Baby Mia - her birthday was Monday along with my sister Adrianne. For Adrianne we went and at lunch at San Miguel's. Then later that night Lance and I made cupcakes for Mia's Birthday. We semi celebrate Riley's birthday then also. We are not for sure when her birthday really is.

But anyway - of course I did not have my camera at home so I did not get any pictures of my baby girls enjoying their cupcakes! ) :

Furniture Finally!

After months of decision making and then having to pick something else and then not loving that choice and blah blah blah . . . Baby Barnes finally has furniture. Lance, being the great husband he is, went last Friday and picked it all up and had it all unloaded when I got home from work. I LOVE IT!!! Mom and I then went Monday to Shreveport and bought all the fabric to get started on his bedding. Cannot wait for it to all come together! Here are some pictures of the piceces we bought.

This is the dresser and hutch - on it are just a few things I have purchased tp decorate. Still a long way to go.

Here is his Armoire', an un-expected purchase but when you find a good deal, it is too hard to pass on!

And here is his crib. You will have to excuse the floor, should have cleaned them before taking these pictures. Everything is in a spot for now, knowing me I will change my mind and move it all around again and again.

Rambling on . . .

Just when I thought I decided on furniture I have found some I like 10X better. I loved my #1 choice, #2 is okay but I really wanted a more traditional crib. While playing on facebook one day I ran across Brittany Napper's photographs and LOVE the crib she got for her little girl. I asked her where she found it and she was so sweet to tell me just where and everything! So feeling like a slight copy cat, but I LOVE this crib! SOLD. We are going to pick up the furniture this weekend. I will have to take a picture, the website will not let me save the photograph.
Lance and I visited St. Paul's Methodist Church last Sunday and really enjoyed it. We are back on the search for a home church. It is really difficult to find a church where everything feels complete. We are going back this Sunday! It felt good so we will see!
Originally I wanted to spend a nice, relaxing weekend at home for Easter and of course things NEVER seem to work out the way I plan. I have worked almost every weekend here lately and dang it I want to be home. But we are going to go to Minden Saturday night and spend some time with L's parents. I have not been over there in a while and owe them a visit! I am excited!

Oh and now some VERY important news! RASCAL FLATTS new CD released today! GO GET IT NOW! Of course I have! Listening to it as I type. I will leave you with some pictures from the last concert we went to in September, I think. It has been a while, cannot wait for this years RF concert!

Final Decisions . . .

So in the past couple of weeks I have been looking at strollers, car seats, furniture, diaper bags, pack-n-plays and more. These are hard decisions to make! We chose the furniture and to my luck one of the peices is discontinued so we had to choose again! So here is our new choice in chocolate. Once again not this bedding. Who knew fruntirue was going to be so difficult.
This is it. The End. I am not picking anymore furniture out. Hopefully will get this ordered in the next 2 weeks. I am so very ready to have it.
Next. I found the greatest diaper bag ever! I did not want anything that screamed "Hey look at me, I am a diaper bag!!" and I found it at Trends & Traditions: Shopping for a Cause - Spring Market in Shreveport. While I think the lady had her prices confused I got it for a great deal!

It is a Born Out Of Necessity calf-skin leather bag! It has a cold/hot compartment which is handy. This way when he is older it will still work as a bag for him and a purse for me. YAY!!
Last decision I have made is for his seat and stroller. I also wanted something basic, no designs and nothing to bold. I found this simple Chicco gray and black car seat, stroller and pack-n-play that I love. Very simple and the pack-n-play will be great for a #2 and so will the stroller.
Well that is it for now - life is just busy with work. But the weather is BEAUTIFUL!

American Idol ~ really??

So I swore thsi year I was not going to watch American Idol - I am pretty sure the last season I watched was the one that Carrie Underwood won. So needless to say it has been a while.

Well I am completely addicted. Sort of. I love DVR, one of the greatest inventions ever! I think this has a lot to do on why I am watching it this season, and the fact that Lance has class on Tuesday nights so this gives me something to watch while cooking. So with my handy dandy DVR I can skip all those commercials and fast forward through the people I never really cared for anyway! YAY.

My ultimate favorite (drum roll) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ADAM LAMBERT!
He ROCKS! Although I did not love what he did last night, liked it . . . but not my favorite last night.
Another Idol I also like is Danny. He did great last night! I also like Matt, well at least last night I did. I like Scott too but don't think he is good enough to win. We shall see. Go ADAM!

Simply Obsessed!

My new obsession with the Twilight series has taken over. I completed Twilight and am now halfway through New Moon. I normally read for a few hours in bed but had to take a break because I could not sleep. Yes! This book is taking over my brain, emotions and more. I think about it all through the night and any spare time I have I am wanting to read it. There have been parts when I no longer wanted to read it but I still continue! It just makes me so mad sometimes!!
I love to read - well when I can find a good book and a book with a series, well does not get any better than that!

Now the big decision is should I watch the first movie? I have heard so many mixed feelings about it so I just don't know what to do. Books are ALWAYS better than the movie so I just don't want the movie to ruin my mental images I already have in my mind. We shall see . . .
Hope you all have a great weekend.

As of lately. . .

So the past few weeks have been a little crazy with work, Lance's school and traveling. Lance and I went to New Orleans for the weekend (about 2 weeks ago) and had a great time! He had a meeting on Thursday morning so I slept in and read my addicting book Twilight. Which I might add I finished reading that weekend and now on to book 2. Thursday we went shopping in the quarter and on Magazine Street. Barnes racked up and got some really cute outfits!! That evening we went to Metarie and did a little shopping for Lance and then at dinner at P.F. Chengs! One of my all time favorite's! Friday we went back to Metarie, had some beignets, went to Maternity shops and no luck. We also went to another children's shop and got a few more things for Barnes! I have formed a sick obsession with buying clothes for him! Friday we ate Acme Oyster House for lunch and then went to the Riverwalk. After that it was time to rest. I never knew walking would make me so tired! That night we went and had a great dinner followed by the best slice of $10 cheesecake ever!! Every meal requires dessert now! Saturday morning we had more beignets and hit the road - headed home to see my babies!!

Since then work has been really busy and Lance has been busy too! Barnes' room is ready for furniture which we hope to order next week! Here is a picture of the bed, of course it is the wrong bedding! Lance's parents are so sweet to purchase the crib for us! My parents are having all the bedding made!! His bedding is something I never thought I would pick out but I love it!! It is 2 shades of blue, 2 shades of green and a taupe. That is where the stripes come in!
Below are the two matching pieces that we are going to puchase as well!

I cannot wait to have it all here and the bedding to be complete! Just to see it all together!
In the mean time, I think Lance needs a little uplifting! He is in school this semester and chose to take 2 classes. He leaves the house every morning by 4 ish and on Monday's does not return home until 8:30 and Tuesday and Thursday he returns home at 8:00. He is running thin and just needs to slow down but there is no time to just stop and take a break. With prayers and some sleep I think he will make it through this semester!
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Barnes' room

Although there is still a lot to do with plenty of time we painted Barnes' room last weekend. It is so hard to imagine right now and just looks like we picked out random colors but I promise it will all make sense in the end. The stripes are only on one wall and the rest is a taupey color. This weekend we are going to paint all the trim and put the moulding up top so one step at a time!

This is it so far - will update when the moulding and a few more things are finished. BTW - that is a black blanket on the floor - that way Lance would not splatter paint EVERYWHERE on the new floor - he is a messy painter, but no complaints! Have a great weekend.

Barnes Robert Carnahan

Well I finally am ready to post my pictures - here is Barnes Robert Carnahan at our 17.5 week visit. We are painting the room this weekend so I will post pictures when we get finished painting. Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Time is moving so fast!

Baby Carnahan & Mia

Life has been a little crazy lately! Just lots at work and home and such but I feel like it has all just begun!

Friday, February 6th we found out that "Peanut" is a BOY!!! We are so very excited. Just to share with you . . . we had high expectataions that "Peanut" was a bot. Lance comes from all boys and both his brothers have boys. See the pattern here, Carnahan's seem to only have boys! There is no dissappointment here! I always pictured my first being a boy, everyone needs a big brother! Maybe because I had one, plus every first born on my side is always a boy!

So since then my mind continues to just race! When I sleep I think about everything, therefore I have the hardest time sleeping! I have been reading up on car seats and such, wanting to make sure I pick out the right things and to see the reviews and what is reccommended. Whew! It is tough trying to protect and make sure he will be taken care of!

I will post some pics of him but he chose not to show his face. He seems to be a snuggler and a thumb sucker! We love a snuggler! The four legged babies will like it too! But he kept his arms covering his face the entire time so better luck next time. The next ultra sound will be at 30 weeks. Technology is AMAZING! I just want to look at him all the time now!

Well I will leave you with a little HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY from the baby girl!

I don't want her to EVER feel left out! She is my heart!

The Carnahan Clan

I realized I never introduced my family! All 5 children! We have 2 dogs and three cats - Riley and Mia and then Ash, Bitty and Tanner! They keep us well entertained! Riley and Mia are great Bulldog fans! Go Dawgs!

Next we have Ash and Tanner - Tanner loves to snuggle with the other animals - not so much me and Lance.

Then Bitty - she was a gift to my nephews Thomas and Hilton, of course I did want to give her to them but I did and come to find out Hilton was allergic so we got to keep her!!! She is so sweet but not very social. She and Ash love to sleep on the refrigerator in one of my casserole dishes with Lance's old hats in it - don't worry I never use that dish!
Well that is our family for now - or our small farm! I love my 4 legged babies!!

Slightly Overwhelming!

Who knew picking a crib out was so difficult?! I will find one I really like but then I don't like the furniture that goes with it so then I find the furniture I like and then don't like the crib. Way to much to worry with and just wish I could pick out a crib!

Things have been going great! Work is still a little boring due to the fact that my parents are still out of town - they will return soon and the mass chaos will resume!

We went to church yesterday and it felt really good although I really find it hard to tolerate the woman that assists. Something about her we just don't care for. Things had started too level themeselves out right before I found out I was pregnant and then since we have not been back since November things have been a little difficult. Not talking about the pregnancy or my marriage or anything like that. Just my perspectives and inner joy felt complete for a little bit.

Now with a baby on the way you tend to worry about so much. Will we be good parents? Are we ready for this, here it comes? Just little questions! Nothing big!

We are very excited but I think everything will become more real once we know the sex, hear the heartbeat and such. Not much longer until those things!

Well I hope everyone has a great week!

Holiday's are over for us!

It is official as of yesterday! The Holiday's are over and back to work we go! Lance and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week vacation but it was time to go to work for us.

We did all the projecting that we could for now, visited everyone, caught up on some well needed sleep and hmm . . . that is all!

One day Steven (Lance's brother) came and helped lay flooring in "Peanuts" room and the next day his dad and Steven came back and did our bedroom flooring - what a feeling to be rid of carpet! Not that I don't like carpet but the house had cheap, crappily installed carpet. Also having 5 animals can do some serious damage to carpet.

We were proud participants at the INDY BOWL!!! GO DAWGS! It was kind of fun considering some bumps in the road. Who knew all the small things that were true testiments of your friendship with others and how amazingly ungrateful people are for the things that you do for them! Well I am not going to elaborate because I could go on and on! Just amazing how you think you have a group of great friends and WHAM they shock the hell out of you . . . okay really!

New Years Eve we went to Hollie and Ryan's and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself! It was low key, with great snacks and fun times! The next day I slept and so on -

So fast forward to today - first day back at work and it is actually nice to be here too! Would be better if my parents were here - just so quite! Guess I can get more done this way - well I will try and download some photographs from the Holiday's tomorrow - till then-
